Description: Summer vacation is the perfect time to bring our local youth together through making music. No experience necessary! Students will have the opportunity to begin or expand their musical knowledge in fun and creative ways, starting with hands-on experience through games and then putting their new skills to work by participating in percussion, ukulele and vocal ensembles. Capped with a final celebration for families on the last day.
Prerequisites: None Bring bag lunch and snack
Times: MONDAY-FRIDAY 10-3
Dates: 8/4-8/8 (5 days)
PERFORMANCE: 8/8 2pm

EARLY DROP OFF (9-10am, quiet activities in school): $40 all five days
LATE PICK UP (3-5pm, movie in the micro-cinema): $80 all five days

Description: Learn the basics of songwriting from this program inspired by our Nashville North initiative with the Country Music Hall of Fame Words&Music program.
Prerequisites: none
Times: Tuesdays 1PM – 3PM

Teacher: Ryan Piccolo
Description: Ready for the next step? Dive into more complex jazztunes and apply jazz theory concepts when creating your solos.
Instruments: Flute, clarinet, percussion, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano, drums, etc
Prerequisites: This is an auditioned ensemble. Minimum one year of band and instructor permission.
Times: Tuesday 1-2:30 pm
Dates: 7/1- 8/12
Performance: 8/17

Teacher: Ryan Piccolo
Description: Learn about playing jazz by exploring your own creative use of scales and chords. We will be introduced to jazz improvisation by applying introductory jazz theory to classic jazz songs.
Prerequisites: Minimum two years of band and/or instructor permission
Time: 1-2:30pm
